This is really interesting. I never realized it was so difficult to execute properly. I'm curious to know why carriers' attitudes towards SMS shortcodes is negative, it seems so counterproductive!

A recent report from Nellymoser shows QR response rate in national magazines with an average response rate of 6.4%, which is more than the scan estimate here. Any idea as to why the discrepancy? http://www.nellymoser.com/action-codes/scan-response-rates

"1. A technology platform to enable scalability, speed-to-market and cost savings to brands, and

2. An experienced creative and strategic team to guide these mobile programs and ensure both brand differentiation and outstanding results across the business."

Nice approach!

Quick question...would you recommend this same approach for the small business owner? I run a small fishing charter business, and I just keep thinking that there is a big opportunity for me to utilize mobile marketing. No one else in the industry is doing anything with mobile (at least not in my area).

I have a budget for this, but it's not huge. Probably the same with many other small cafes, shops etc. in my area. Would you recommend small business owners consider taking the same approach as mentioned above?

Thanks!

Good on you. Some are making the concept overly complicated. Pinterest is an excellent way for retailers to bring in new clients, sales can be increased and the buyers are just gobbling up this new (ish) social media site.

Retailers should hope on board as rapidly as possible (see Sephora as an ideal sample).

I hope to see you all on Pinterest! http://pinterest.com/onestepretail/
